ROSALIE SMIT
Director | BCom LLB
After more than 20 years’ experience as a litigator at a medium-sized law firm, Rosalie resigned from her position as Director of Minde Schapiro & Smith Inc where she practiced law since commencing her articles in 2001.
In 2020, Rosalie launched her own boutique practice Rosalie Smit Inc to focus on a more specialised family and litigation practice. Encouraged by the proven benefits of mediation in settling family disputes, Rosalie is also a qualified family mediator.
Renowned for her personal, honest approach, Rosalie is passionate about protecting the integrity of the family. With meticulous attention to detail, she is dedicated to achieving a fair outcome and the best possible solution for all parties involved. Rosalie believes that changes in a family’s structure do not have to lead to the destruction of a family and, if managed well, can be achieved with minimal financial and emotional burden.
Rosalie completed a Bachelor of Commerce Law and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Stellenbosch. She also volunteers her time to sit as Commissioner of the Small Claims Court as a way of giving back to the community.
A wife and mother of two, Rosalie loves spending her free time reading, experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring new and exciting places with her family and friends.

Lisa launched her career in 2018 as a candidate attorney and, most recently, an associate at Minde Shapiro & Smith Inc. Lisa shares Rosalie’s enthusiasm for the benefits a boutique firm could offer its clients and joined Rosalie Smit Inc in a pivotal role during 2020.
Lisa specialises in general litigation, debt collection, correspondent work, and family law. She completed her Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws at the University of the Western Cape and the Dullah Omar Institute.
Newly married, Lisa enjoys going on adventures with her family, cooking and baking, and spending time in the great outdoors.
